AI receptionist

An AI receptionist is a system that does the first round of a front desk's work: it answers customer messages on WhatsApp, Telegram or the website, checks the real diary, offers only free slots and records the booking. Unlike a simple chatbot, it acts on systems, not just in words.

The mechanism is always the same: the customer writes “any table for two on Friday?”, the system reads the request, looks at the diary, answers with genuinely free slots and — confirmation received — writes the booking into the calendar, with an automatic reminder the day before. The owner finds everything already logged in the dashboard. The stretches that used to be lost — 9 pm in a full dining room, the closed Sunday, the midnight message — become bookings like any other.

What it doesn't do, by design: it never invents times or availability (it only reads real data), it never gives opinions on the professional's behalf (no clinical advice in a medical practice, no legal opinions in a law firm), and it hands over to a human the moment the conversation leaves its perimeter. That's exactly the test of a serious one: it looks at the calendar and knows its limits.

Frequently asked questions

Does an AI receptionist replace the front desk?
It absorbs the first contact and the repetitive operations — answering, booking, reminders, cancellations — which are most of the volume. Sensitive conversations stay human: a good system knows when to hand over.
Do customers notice it's a machine?
If it answers with the right times, in English, at 10 pm on a Sunday, most customers judge the result, not the sender. The goal isn't to pretend to be human: it's to keep nobody waiting.
